Scholarship for International Baccalaureate (IB) Graduates from South Asia is awarded for pursuing Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communication (Information, Media, Knowledge Management) at University of Technology, Sydney. Scholarship amount details

  • The Scholarship cannot be transferred, deferred or redeemed for cash
  • Continuation of the scholarship depends on the ongoing eligibility criteria set as mentioned in the ‘Additional Info’ section of the scholarship page

Selection Criteria:

  • Where there are multiple applicants with the same International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results, further consideration will be given to the answer to the following question-
    • How do you intend to utilise your UTS degree to contribute to the community

Ongoing Recipient Eligibility Criteria:

  • Academic progress- The recipient must maintain the minimum progression rules of the University for the duration of the Scholarship
  • UTS Enrolment- The recipient of the Scholarship must continue to be enrolled as a full-time (22-24 credit points in Autumn and Spring sessions) international student in an undergraduate course at UTS, unless he/she has been approved to study a reduced study load through the standard International Student Visa Holders Application to Reduce Study Load application process through a UTS Student Centre
  • Leave/Deferral/Course withdrawal- If the recipient defers the UTS offer or withdraws from the UTS course after the start of his/her first session, the Scholarship will be terminated and any tuition fee Scholarship payment already made for that session will be reversed

Other obligations and conditions-

  • The Recipient is responsible for advising the Scholarships Office of any changes in circumstances that would make him/her ineligible for continuation of the Scholarship, including but not limited to taking Leave of Absence or deferring study, and changing his/her international students visa status to another visa category, including but not limited to Permanent Residency Visa
  • If the Recipient obtains Permanent Residency status, the Scholarship will be terminated
    For the duration of the Scholarship, the recipient is not permitted to hold other UTS Scholarships, unless an equity-based scholarship is approved by exception
  • The recipient must consent to allowing his/her name, photograph or short article to be used for the promotion of UTS

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
    Commence full-time studies on campus (Sydney) On-campus studies include face-to-face and/or online (remote) learning applicable to all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees; and
  • Must be completing or have completed an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma no longer than 1 year before commencing at UTS, and be admitted based on this qualification to UTS; and
  • Meet the UTS admission criteria for the selected UTS undergraduate degree course; and
  • Must obtain an aggregate score including bonus and penalty points of 28 or above in their International Baccalaureate (IB) final grades, or 33 or above in their International Baccalaureate predicted grades at the point the scholarship decision is made; and
  • All candidates must apply using the UTS online scholarship application form to be eligible
